Why onsite calibration matters

The benefit of onsite calibration is straightforward: you don't have to send your equipment off-site. By calibrating and adjusting in place, you keep production running, eliminate shipping risk, and avoid the lost calibration window that comes with weeks of round-trip logistics.

A laboratory manager's life is meaningfully easier when calibration comes to the equipment instead of the equipment going to calibration. Waiting for production to resume or for products to be released is no longer a calibration-program cost.

Allometrics has built our service model around onsite delivery. Our field metrologists arrive with NIST-traceable reference standards, environmental monitors, lift gear, and the documentation tools to perform full ISO/IEC 17025 calibrations in your facility. No exceptions, no compromises on accuracy.

Why onsite is the right service mode

No expensive shipping costs. Heavy or fragile equipment (floor scales, large analytical balances, oven and chamber probes, mounted process instruments) shouldn't move. Shipping risk often exceeds the calibration cost itself.

Added convenience for your operations team. Your QC team doesn't take equipment offline; we work around your schedule. Calibration happens during planned outages, between shifts, or in parallel with other operations.

Operational efficiency. Multi-instrument visits — calibrate balances, scales, weight sets, pressure gauges, dataloggers, and more in a single visit. One technician, one visit, one report.

Rapid response. When equipment fails calibration mid-shift, our fail-and-respond service brings a metrologist to your facility within 24-48 hours instead of waiting weeks for shipping turnaround.

What we calibrate onsite — every discipline

Onsite calibration covers Allometrics' full A2LA Cert 2039.01 scope. Our field metrologists arrive with the reference standards required for each discipline:

One vendor.
One schedule.
One audit trail.

Why Allometrics for onsite calibration

A2LA-accredited under ISO/IEC 17025. Cert 2039.01. Continuous accreditation through every revision of the standard since the 1970s.

Most field-deployable cal capability in the southern U.S. Field service is the dominant share of our cal volume. Our metrologists arrive with NIST-traceable reference standards across every discipline, environmental monitors, and the gear to perform calibrations in your facility — not in ours.

One team for the entire regulated environment. When the equipment you're calibrating sits inside a USP <797> compounding cleanroom, a USP <800> hazardous drug suite, a BSL-2/3 lab, or a refinery process area, the same Allometrics field crew can also recertify the cleanroom, certify the BSC, run the viable air sampling, and balance the room's HVAC — all under one accreditation chain.

50 years of regulated-environment experience. Founded 1976. Onsite delivery has been the dominant service mode for the entire history of the company.

When onsite isn't the right answer — cal lab dropoff

A small share of calibration work is best performed in our climate-controlled, A2LA-accredited Webster, TX lab. The most common reasons:

  • Micro-balances and sub-microgram analytical work — granite tables, draft control, environmental stability beyond what most field environments offer
  • Reference weight set re-verification — sets ship to us, get verified, ship back; faster than scheduling a field visit per set
  • Specialized analytical wavelength / spectrophotometry references — extended environmental stabilization required
  • High-precision plastometer dimensional checks — bring the part to the lab

We coordinate the logistics for cal-lab work with the same managed program calendar as onsite work. One QA report covering everything regardless of where it was performed.
